Thinking Out Loud: Comic Strip Syndication
This certain American guy said that I should get Callwork syndicated and sell it to India newspapers. Translated version of course. Almost everyone there are into BPO's and there are good chances of getting some of these strips sold there. I never thought about that before. This is not part of the plan. Looking at international syndication, it looks so impossible and of course, very expensive to even submit my works via snail mail. One example is King Feature Syndicate who recieves 3,000 cartoon strips per year and out of it, they only syndicate 3 comic strips. What are the chances right? If I were to be serious about this stuff, I'd rather go for "self-syndication". Just like what I did to Manila Bulletin where send your works directly to the art editor or whoever is in charge with the magazine or newspaper. Also, with the dying newspaper industry in the US, it's better to aim directly at third world countries... Well I'm sure Manila Bulletin wouldn't mind getting this printed somewhere else. I don't know guys.. what are your thoughts?

Super-Agent?
You mean super-pissed agent?
Good questions to ask would be "How well would this punchline / dialogue translate to another language?" and "How much control over distribution / derivative works and sales would I be giving up?"
You'll usually be compensated much better, but there may be trade-offs in terms of how much you can do with your work, now that somebody else is involved with it.
QAR - lol! as in super na...
Andre - yeah self-application na lang hehe
