Indian BPO in Philippines
When I started working in a call center back in 2002, almost all BPO companies are American companies. Bosses and Clients are Americans. Some will even send you to America. I was surprised the other day when I learned that HTMT is now Hinduja with their ad both Filipino and Indian shaking hands. The last time was People Support changing name to Aegis. ACS partnered with an Indian company called WNS. I am currently working for an Indian company. To start with, India pioneered the BPO industry. I'm not really sure though why they are expanding here in our country aside from the fact that some Americans would prefer Filipinos way of speaking.
Indians are smart. Actually, I am quite surprised with how they think and how they can come up with creative solutions. If you have read "Outliers" by Gladwell, it states that by nature, Westerns are smarter than Asians. Chinese children enjoy math and are good with it because of the language that they speak. (Short cut sound of numbers and interpretation makes their computation faster than english)
Anyway, I won't be surprised if in the future, we will be dominated by Indian companies.

manong calbo - actually there are a lot of outsourcing going on now for CHina. We have 3 sites there! Will not be surprised if they dominated the Phil.

Kaso cost cutting kaya puro locals lang employed. Hindi masyado nag import.
I don't think that Indian companies will dominate the BPO industry here in the Philippines. Yes, Indian are smart but Filipinos can out smart them. Filipinos are good in competition.
BPO service provider - I've seen a lot of filipinos opening a call center and evetually closing down IF they were not partnered with an alien. There are still some Filipinos who are outliers though and they are the future of our BPO
Being an Indian ,I take pride in the fact that some filipinos find Indian smart and rightly so .
However having known a few filipinos in the Gulf I can say that filipinos do outscore Indians in having a pleasant and more customer friendly attitude which is a big plus point in the BPO Industry .By nature Filipinos are more courteous and polite ...
Because of the success of BPO here in Philippines we can say that those success are comes from the other BPO's company from the other countries like India and they really help on our economy. I am thankful that I drop by here on your blog and found this interesting article. Keep it up.
